260 Overnighter

1989–91

Sea Ray Yachts 260 Overnighter
Introduced in 1989, the Sea Ray 260 Overnighter is a still-attractive family sportboat with a distinctive profile and a versatile pedigree. This is a boat for those who prefer the open-air advantages of a large cockpit and who don’t require the accommodations of a full cruising-style cabin. Because the interior is small, the bulkhead is set well forward which results in an extra-large cockpit compared to most other 26-foot sportboats. There’s wraparound seating for four just behind the helm and companion seat, and the entire aft section of the cockpit is consumed by an elevated sundeck—a 5-1/2-foot-deep full-width platform with a kick-up headrest and room for three sunbathers. The cuddy cabin features an alcohol stove, Porta-Potti, V-berth, and a hanging locker. Additional features include fold-down helm and companion seats, a cockpit ice chest and bar, and a big storage bin under the forward section of the sun pad. Note that an 8-foot, 6-inch beam makes her trailerable without a permit. A single 5.7-liter sterndrive will cruise the 260 Overnighter at 22 knots (34 knots top), and the 7.4-liter engine cruises at around 27–28 knots (40+ knots top.)
