Sea Ray Yachts
250 Sundancer
1995–98
A good-selling boat and the market leader in her class during her production years, the Sea Ray 250 Sundancer is a high-style sport cruiser with an innovative cockpit layout and a midcabin interior. She’s certainly one of the better-looking trailerable boats available in this size range in spite of her relatively high freeboard. There are berths for four below including double beds fore and aft, a complete galley, and an enclosed standup head and shower. The cockpit seems large for a 25-footer and includes a unique port-side sun lounge in addition to facing bench seats, a built-in cooler, and a walk-through transom. Lacking side decks, access to the foredeck is via a windshield walk-through with a molded step built into the sliding companionway door. Additional features include a well-arranged helm console, four opening ports, bow pulpit, and good storage. Among several sterndrive engine options, a single 5.7-liter MerCruiser will cruise the Sea Ray 250 Sundancer at 20 knots and reach a top speed of 29–30 knots. An optional 7.4-liter MerCruiser I/O engine cruises around 22 knots and delivers a top speed in the neighborhood of 36 knots.

Opening ports provide good cabin ventilation. Crisp 1990's styling still looks good.@Comments: Galley has a sink that's actually big enough to use, but counter space is scarce.@Performance: Cruises 25-30 mph with a single 250hp MerCruiser I/O (about 40 mph top).
