Sea Fox
286 Commander
2009–16
South Carolina-based Sea Fox specializes in the market for value-priced fishing boats, and the 286 Center Console succeeds in delivering a lot of boat for the money. Pros: Clean styling, lots of seating, seaworthy deep-V hull, low price. Cons: So-so finish, inexpensive materials, lightweight construction. Bottom line: As usual, no manufacturer stretches a boating dollar further than Sea Fox. An impressive list of standard features include an integrated swim platform, 40-gallon livewell (behind helm seat), fiberglass hardtop with rod holders, removable cooler, front console bucket seats (2), bow seating with backrests, drink holders, foldaway rear seat, insulated in-deck fish boxes, walk-in console with sink and marine head, fresh and raw water washdowns, pull-up cleats, recessed trim tabs, cockpit rod storage, tackle box, cockpit toe rails, helm seats with flip-up bolsters, swim ladder, and cockpit bolsters. An in-floor storage box at the bow has space for two 5-gallon buckets. The electronics panel has plenty of room to flush-mount a pair of large display units. Twin 250hp Susuki outboards reach a top speed of about 45 knots.
