Scout
262 Abaco
2006–14
Distinctive styling, a roomy layout, and excellent fit and finish describe the Scout 262 Abaco, a top-tier express fishing boat whose exceptional fuel efficiency ranks with the best boats in her class. Pocket express boats like the 262 have become increasingly popular in recent years, mostly at the expense of traditional walkaround designs with their wide, recessed side decks and true 360-degree fishability. With a modest 35 square feet of working space, the Abaco’s cockpit features a wave gate with stern seat at the transom, coaming bolsters, insulated fish box, port/starboard tackle drawers, and 20-gallon standup livewell. Below, the well-appointed cabin includes an angled double-berth, quarter berth, mini-galley with sink, refrigerator and Corian counter, and enclosed head with marine toilet and hand-held shower. Standard features include a fiberglass hardtop, teak and holly cabin sole, dual swim/dive platforms, trim tabs, cockpit jump seats, cockpit shower, and two opening cabin ports. A full enclosure package was a popular option. Built on a lightweight hull with a wide 8'10" beam, twin 150hp Yamaha outboards reach a top speed of over 40 knots.
