2660-2765 Commodore

A big trailerable boat, the Regal 2765 Commodore (called the 2660 Commodore from 1999–2001) has all the amenities a cruising family will need for comfortable overnight outings. Several manufacturers produce similar models, but the 2765’s notched hull sets her apart from the others. (Notched hulls—originally designed for high-performance racing boats—are said to be more efficient than conventional V bottoms and able to attain higher top speeds.) The mid-cabin floorplan will comfortably sleep four adults, and while it can’t be described as spacious, the cabin includes a compact head compartment, good ventilation, and a complete galley. On deck, the cockpit is arranged with a removable rear bench seat, a sun lounge opposite the helm (with a reversible backrest), swivel helm seat and a refreshment center with a removable cooler. Lacking side decks, molded steps next to the helm lead to an opening windshield. Note the large bolt-on swim platform. A single 310hp MerCruiser sterndrive will cruise the Regal 2765 at 20 knots (35–36 knots top). Twin 220hp MerCruiser I/Os cruise in the low-to-mid 20s (40+ top).
