Pursuit Yachts 2700 Open
The Pursuit 27 Open (called the 2700 Express in her last two years of production) is essentially the same boat as the Tiara 2700 Open (1988–93) with additional fishing features. She’s built on a deep-V hull with moderate beam, balsa-cored hullsides, and a steep 22 degrees of deadrise at the transom—a rock-solid offshore express with excellent handling characteristics. The popularity of this boat has much to do with her built-in versatility. As a fisherman, her spacious, single-level cockpit is completely uncluttered and large enough for a mounted chair. As a family cruiser, the Pursuit 2700 offers the advantages of inboard power (most of her competitors have outboards or I/Os) and a proven offshore hull to go with her upscale interior. The cabin is arranged with a convertible V-berth/dinette forward, a compact galley with an electric stove, and a standup head with sink and shower. Additional features include engine boxes, wide side decks, bow pulpit and swim platform. As it is with all Pursuit products, the finish is exemplary for a production boat. Crusader 270hp gas engines cruise the Pursuit 27 in the low 20s (about 30 knots top).
