Prout

64 Panther

1995–99

Prout 64 Panther
Introduced in 1995 as the Prout 61 (she became a 64-footer three years later when the swim platforms were lengthened), the Prout 64 is a deep-V catamaran with a handsome profile and a super-wide 22-foot beam. Without a doubt, the most compelling feature of the Prout 64 is her enormous single-level salon and wheelhouse area. Designed for the American market, the spacious four-stateroom interior is arranged with a large U-shaped galley aft of the lower helm, a separate dining area forward, flybridge access steps across from the galley and facing settees in the salon. The tradeoff for the extravagant main deck accommodations lie below where the staterooms must fit into the Prout’s narrow hulls. (Note that the master suite occupies the entire starboard hull.) Topside, the flybridge will seat eight in comfort. Additional features include two swim platforms, a joystick steering system, molded flybridge and sidedeck steps, and easy access to the engine compartments. Early models with 820hp waterjet MANs cruise at 25 knots (29–30 knots top), and later models with 1,150hp waterjet MTUs cruise at a fast 30 knots.
