2650 ProKat Center Console

1998–2002

Pro Sports 2650 ProKat Center Console
Pro Sports, an Alabama-based builder of traditional center consoles and cuddy cabins, introduced the 2650 Pro Kat in 1998 as their initial entry into the fast-growing market for catamaran fishing boats. The advantages of cats have been well documented by now—a smoother ride in a chop than monohulls, better range and economy, more deck space forward, smaller engine requirements, etc. The Pro Kat rides on a pair of semi-displacement, high-freeboard hulls with reverse chines and, at under 4,000 lbs. without engines, she’s a relatively light boat for her size and more easily trailered than many other 25-footers. In the cockpit, there are two in-deck fish boxes (one in each hull), two baitwells in the transom, under-gunwale rod storage, rod holders, and padded cockpit coaming. At the bow, there’s a dry storage bin under the seat forward of the console and an anchor locker and bow pulpit are standard. Like most modern center consoles, a head compartment is located under the helm. Twin 135hp outboards cruise the Pro Kat at 25 knots (getting about 2 mpg) and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of of 35–36 knots.
