251 Walkaround

1995–2000

A popular and affordably priced boat, the Pro-Line 251 Walkaround combines the wide and secure side decks of any good walkaround design with a civilized cabin (with standing headroom) suitable for an occasional weekend cruise with the family. The 251 is a good-looking boat—a fact which no doubt accounts for her popularity—and her deep and surprisingly large cockpit will satisfy the needs of offshore anglers seeking the versatility (and limited beam) of a trailerable boat. A pair of overboard-draining insulated fishboxes are set under the cockpit floor, and tackle drawers and storage bins are located beneath the twin helm seats on the bridgedeck. Aft, the transom work station comes with a built-in freshwater sink and a centerline livewell. Coaming bolsters are standard, and there’s rod storage beneath each gunwale. Additional features include an outboard bracket, transom door, bow pulpit, and a comfortable cabin with an enclosed, standup head, V berths, and a small galley. A single 225hp outboard will cruise the Pro-Line 251 at 22 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 34 knots. Note that the later Pro-Line 27 Walk is the same boat with an integrated transom.
