Pacific Mariner Yachts 65 Motor Yacht
Marketed as a fully equipped turnkey yacht with few options, the attractive price of the Pacific Mariner 65 was the result of old-fashioned production efficiency—producing the same boat over and over cuts costs. She was built in the state of Washington on a low-deadrise modified-V hull with generous beam, cored hull sides, and a solid fiberglass bottom. The Pacific Mariner isn’t a flashy boat—her pilothouse profile is on the conservative side, and she lacks a Eurostyle swim platform—but her three-stateroom interior is spacious and very well appointed. The galley and dinette are forward on the pilothouse level where they’re separated from the salon by a built-in entertainment center. The lavish full-beam master suite includes a king-size bed (as well as a tub in the adjoining head), and both guest staterooms have private head access. The engine room and crew quarters are reached via a hatch in the cockpit sole. On the downside, the side decks are narrow. Note that in 2003 (beginning with hull #37), an upgraded “SE” version incorporates a series of subtle design revisions. A good performer with 800hp Cat (or 825hp MTU) diesels, the Pacific Mariner will cruise at 22 knots and reach 26–27 knots top.
