Nauset

35 Sport Cruiser

1984–89

Nauset 35 Sport Cruiser
Nauset Marine is a well-known New England builder of commercial workboats and custom cruisers, and among their more notable products is the 35 Sport Cruiser, a popular boat the company built for over a decade. She’s constructed on the old Bruno-Stillman 35 hull—an extremely popular design used in the production of some 350 boats from 1973 until 1984 when the company closed down. Nauset bought the molds and have since built about forty 35 Sport Cruisers for private use. Construction is solid fiberglass with a single-piece inner liner and a deep, prop-protecting keel. The interior is little changed from the original Bruno-Stillman layout, although the deckhouse profile was completely new. Notable features include a standard lower helm, wide side decks (well-protected with raised bulwarks and high railings), a prominent bowsprit, and a large cockpit with room for a mounted chair. Among several single- and twin-engine options, a single 375hp Cat diesel (17–18 knots cruise/24 top) was among the most popular. With her classic profile, meticulous detailing and seakindly hull, the Nauset 35 remains a very appealing design.
