Monterey
265-276 Cruiser
1993–99
The Monterey 276 Cruiser (called the 265 Cruiser in 1993–94) is a value-priced weekend cruiser with roomy accommodations, a practical deck plan, and good open-water performance. She’s constructed on a solid fiberglass, deep-V hull with an integral swim platform and a relatively wide 9'6" beam. Her mid-cabin interior is arranged in the usual way with a convertible dinette/U-shaped settee, a compact galley with sink, refrigerator, and stove, an enclosed head with shower, and twin settees in the mid-cabin that convert into a big double berth. There’s near standing headroom in the main cabin and a large hanging locker provides plenty of storage. Topside, the Monterey’s roomy bi-level cockpit has a double helm seat forward, portside lounger, and bench seating at the transom. Additional features include a walk-through windshield (the side decks are narrow), foredeck sun pad, cockpit wet bar, and sport arch. A single 310hp MerCruiser sterndrive will cruise the Monterey in the mid 20s and reach a top speed of just under 40 knots. Twin 190hp Mercs (or Volvos) will cruise in the high 20s and top out at 40+ knots.
