Marlow Mainship

32

2014–15

Marlow Mainship 32
Introduced in 2014, the Mainship 32 offers something different in the world of midsize cruisers. From her lightweight, displacement-style hull with twin keels to her totally unique propulsion system, this is not a boat designed for traditionalists. Considering the Mainship’s very small cockpit—made all the smaller by her sleek reverse transom—the 32 appears more focused on interior comforts than open-air cruising and entertaining. A glass-and-wood door opens into the pilothouse which can be configured with a built-in entertainment center to starboard or, alternately, a starboard settee. Huge windows provide tons of natural lighting, but the side windows don’t open so a generator and air conditioning (both optional) are a must in hot summer climates. One step down is a good-sized galley, large head compartment, and V-berths forward. Interior finish is very good with Corian counters everywhere and a choice of teak or cherry woodwork. The center of the transom has a wide door that powers down into a teak bench, swim platform, or boarding area—very clever. Twin 75hp Yanmar diesels linked to pod-like Saildrive lower units cruise at 8–10 knots. A single 260hp Yanmar inboard will cruise at 14–15 knots.
