263 Walkaround
1993–98
Easily one of the better-looking mid-size walkarounds on the market, the Mako 263 began life in 1994 when she was introduced as the 233 Walkaround. Mako engineers redesigned the transom soon after—adding some additional fuel and water capacity in the process—and reintroduced her for 1995 as the 263 Walkaround. (Just to confuse things a little more, it should be noted that Mako’s original 263 Walkaround model [introduced in 1993] is now called the 293 Walkaround.) Built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with an 8-foot, 6-inch beam, the Mako 263 will appeal to family oriented anglers who want the go-anywhere versatility of a trailerable boat and the overnight accommodations of a cuddy cabin. Deep fish boxes are located under the deck, and a standup livewell and drop boxes are built into the transom. There’s plenty of room for electronics at the helm, and the cabin—with its teak trim, enclosed head compartment, standing headroom, mini galley, and quarter berth—will sleep three. Depending on the load, twin 150 outboards cruise the Mako 263 Walkaround at 25 knots and deliver a top speed of up to 40 knots.
