Mako Yachts
262 Center Console
1994–96
The Mako 262 is a full transom center console with graceful lines and a well-arranged deck layout. (Note that she was introduced in late 1994 as the Mako 241B—basically a 241 Center Console with an integrated outboard bracket.) Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and her deep-V hull insures a dry and stable fishing platform as well as a comfortable ride in a chop. Aside from her rugged construction and easy-on-the-eye appearance, anglers will be drawn to the 262’s lengthy list of standard fishing features. There’s a standup 42-gallon livewell with pump in the transom, a pair of recessed rod lockers, fish boxes under the cockpit sole, aft coaming bolsters, and plenty of storage space under the center casting platform and inside the console. (There’s also a lockable storage compartment at the bow.) The console itself is large enough for the installation of several pieces of electronics, and the forward bench seat swings open for access to a plumbed marine head within. Rated for up to 400 horsepower, twin 150hp outboards will deliver cruising speed in the 25-knot range and—depending on the load—top speeds up around 45 knots.
