252 Center Console
1997–2006
Introduced in 1997, the 252 is the latest of several 25-foot center console models produced by Mako going back to the mid 1970s. A good-looking boat with a modern profile, the 252 is a simple and straightforward design with a solid fiberglass deep-V hull, a trailerable beam, and a full transom with an integrated bracket/dive platform. There’s an elevated casting platform forward (with storage under), and the cockpit comes with a pair of in-deck fish boxes, under-gunwale rod holders, transom door, an above-deck 60-gallon livewell at the transom, and a bait-rigging station to port. A portside door in the console leads down into the head compartment where the battery switches are located. Note the sturdy waist-high bow rails. Unlike most other center console designs there’s no bench seat just forward of the console. Included in a long list of standard equipment is an anchor locker, a foldaway passenger seat at the stern, saltwater washdown, trim tabs and leaning post. A well-built boat at an affordable price, twin 150hp outboards will cruise the Mako 252 Center Console at an economical 27 knots and reach a top speed in the neighborhood of 40 knots.
