Key West
268 Center Console
2006–12
There have been several wide-beam 26-foot center console boats to pick from in recent years but with the exception of the Key West 268 they have been expensive products from top-tier builders. The 268, however, delivers most all the features found in the others, but at a much lower cost. Hull construction is solid fiberglass—no wood—and a wide 9'8" beam provides the interior space of a much larger boat. The oversize console provides space below for a full-size head compartment with forward access—a convenience that comes at the expense of a front console seat. Note the unusual molded step at the bow, forward of the seats. Storage is excellent in all directions. Standard features of the Key West 268 include a 20-gallon rear livewell, raw-water washdown, pull-up cleats, cockpit rod storage, trim tabs, leaning post, hydraulic tilt steering, recessed bow rails, rear bench seat (with cooler under), forward in-floor fish box, tackle storage, and cockpit bolsters. While she performs well with a single Yamaha F250, most Key West 268’s were rigged with twin Yamaha 150s (40+ knots top).
