Island Runner
31
1999–2009
With a beam of just 8 feet, 6 inches, the Island Runner 31 is among the narrowest center consoles this size on the water. If speed, agility and light weight are high on your want list—and you’re looking for a 31-footer that can be trailed anywhere without an over-wide permit—then this sleek, high-performance center console may be just the ticket. There’s no cabin but there is a walk-in console with an honest 6 feet of headroom. Batteries are concealed in console with good access for replacement or adding water, etc. Popular features include a T-top with rod holders, 50-gallon transom livewell, Porta-Potti, insulated 380-qt fish box, bow storage lockers, and a raw-water washdown. The well-designed helm has space for flush-mounting electronics. Note pop-up cleats and the in-floor storage box forward of the console. Described by owners as a good boat for weekend fishing, diving, and going to the sandbar, the 31 has excellent lines. They were are a lot of boat for the money which is why so many were sold. The hull is completely wood-free and has a three-piece configuration with a fully molded inner liner. Twin Mercury 250 EFI outboards reach a top speed of 50 knots.
