Garlington Yachts
44 Express
1990–92
The Garlington 44 is a semi-custom sportfishing machine from a builder known for producing beaujpgully finished fishing boats for discriminating buyers. Weighing in at a svelte 22,000 pounds, the 44’s state-of-the-art construction includes composite cores of Kevlar, carbon fiber, Airex foam, and fiberglass. The hull is Awlgripped at the factory and the sweeping sheer and flared bow made the Garlington 44 one of the most appealing open sportfishing designs on the market during her production years, and certainly one of the more expensive. The elegant teak interior includes a full dinette and galley along with a separate stall shower in the head. Outside, an L-shaped settee is opposite the helm on the raised bridgedeck, and there's over 100 sq. ft. of fishing space on the lower level. On the downside, the engine room is a tight fit. A superior sea boat with a great ride and possessing plenty of sex appeal (as well as strong resale values), twin 460hp Lugger diesels cruise the Garlington 44 at 30 knots and reach 34 knots top.
