Dyna 46 Sundeck
Needs work A popular boat with an attractive price tag to go with her modern lines, the Dyna 46 Sundeck and 53 Cockpit MY are basically the same boat with the 53 having the added versatility of a large cockpit. Built in Taiwan, they’re constructed on a modified-V hull with cored hullsides, moderate beam, and a shallow keel. Inside, the two-stateroom layout is arranged with the galley and dinette down resulting in a spacious salon with an optional lower helm and plenty of built-in teak cabinetry. (The interiors in early models were teak, but more recent models have been finished out with a contemporary light oak or ash woodwork.). There are walkaround queen berths in the staterooms, and both heads have separate stall showers. Additional features include aft deck wing doors, dinghy storage on the hardtop, side exhausts, and fairly wide side decks around the house. The engine room is a tight fit. Among several engine options, 375-hp Cats cruise the Dyna 46 Sundeck at 16–17 knots (20 knots top), and a pair of 485-hp GM 6-71 diesels cruise the Dyna 53 CMY at 19 knots (low 20s wide open.)
