Cobia

254 Center Console

2000–07

A popular model for Cobia, the 254 CC has plenty of fishing space in both the cockpit and the bow. The forward casting deck contains two large storage compartments that drain overboard, and an integral bow pulpit makes anchoring hassle-free. Fishing features include two insulated fishboxes, four rod holders, tackle station with cutting boards, and a 35-gallon transom baitwell The console houses a portable head. Recessed bow rails are a nice touch, and cushions on the front casting platform make for a nice sun deck. The list of standard equipment is impressive—features like hydraulic steering, a stainless steering wheel, full instrumentation, plenjpgul rod storage, and cockpit lighting often cost extra with some companies, but Cobia has always been known for value and the 254 continued with that tradition. The 254 was built to reasonably high standards for a boat in this price range with waterproof electrical connectors, post-assembly foam injection, and Cobia's RIB construction system, which features a molded urethane transom and a wood-free, foam-injected fiberglass stringer system. Twin 150hp outboards reach 45 knots wide open.
