74 Roamer Flush Deck

The Chris Craft Roamer 74 Flush Deck (she was known as the Roamer 73 Flush Deck from 1973–75) is an all-aluminum motor yacht built at the old Chris Craft plant in Holland, Michigan. A total of six of these yachts were built during the 1970s, and it’s worth noting that they are often referred to as Derecktor 74s. Considered a classic design by many, the 74 Roamer rides on a modified V-bottom with a sharp entry, a deeply flared bow, and a particularly graceful sheer. The floorplan is arranged with three staterooms for owner and guests (separate crew quarters are forward) with the galley down and a formal dining salon forward of the wheelhouse. An island wet bar faces aft in the full-width main salon, and a bridge access ladder is found in the wheelhouse. With the house set well aft on the deck, the main salon dimensions are modest by modern motor yacht standards, but the handsome profile of the 74 Flush Deck, with its long foredeck, is among the most appealing to be found in any yacht this size. Standard 12V71TI Detroit diesels provide a comfortable cruising speed of 17 knots and a top speed of about 20 knots. In an interesting side note, the base price back in 1973 was just $370,000.
