320-322 Amerosport Express
1987–90
The Chris Craft 320 Amerosport Express (called the 322 Amerosport in 1989 and the 320 Express Cruiser in 1990) is a fairly generic express cruiser with a traditional sportboat profile and spacious interior accommodations. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and her 12-foot beam is wide for a 32-footer. Surprisingly, the 320/322 Amerosport lacks the mid-cabin floorplan seen in most other express cruisers her size. The galley and head are aft (where they’re easily accessed from the cockpit), and a curtain provides privacy in the stateroom. Outside, the single-level cockpit is arranged with elevated helm and companion seats with bench seating at the transom. A centerline hatch in the cockpit sole provides good access to the motors, and molded cockpit steps port and starboard make boarding easy. Note the unattractive bolt-on reverse swim platform. A radar arch and bow pulpit were standard. Standard 270hp Crusader inboard gas engines (without the V-drives required in mid-cabin designs) will cruise the 320/322 Express at 19 knots (29–30 knots top). Optional 350hp Crusaders cruise at 22 knots and reach 33–34 knots wide open.
