30 Tournament SF
Sporting a handsome profile and a notably wide beam, the Chris Craft30 Tournament has the distinction of being the only Chris Craft ever built on a deep-V, Hunt-designed offshore hull. With a steep 21 degrees of deadrise at the transom and six lifting strakes, this boat is clearly built to run in rough weather. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and the engines rest on inverted aluminum mounts—a very heavy-duty installation indeed. The wide beam of the Chris 30 Tournament provides for a surprisingly spacious cabin below with berths for four, a well-arranged galley area, and plenty of storage. A privacy curtain separates the V-berths from the salon, and the woodwork throughout is teak. Hinged engine boxes are forward in the cockpit (which also serve as great bait-watching seats), and with over 100 square feet of space, the cockpit is exceptionally large and easily fished. The flybridge is big for a boat this size. Additional features include a pair of in-deck storage bins, wide side decks, and good engine access. No lightweight, twin 250hp gas engines cruise the 30 Tournament SF at 18 knots and reach a top speed of 25–26 knots.
