Chris Craft Yachts
28 Corsair
2003–15
With her retro styling and curved aft tumblehome, the 28 Corsair conveys the classic Chris Craft look of yesteryear. First and foremost, the Corsair is a high-quality runabout with a level of finish seldom seen in production boats. And secondly, the Corsair’s premium price gives new meaning to the term “sticker shock.” Clearly, this is a boat for very affluent boaters willing to drop a bundle for a sexy, drop-dead gorgeous runabout. Built on a deep-V hull with a well-flared bow, the amenities aboard the 28 Corsair are many. The cockpit is notable, not just for its plush Ultraleather seating and custom entertainment center, but for its simplicity and comfort as well. The old-world dashboard is a nostalgic throwback to the 1950s, and an electric engine hatch provides easy access to the engine compartment. The Corsair’s curved foredeck conceals a useful cuddy cabin with a V-berth and portable head. The gelcoat is flawless, and the stainless-steel windshield is a work of art. Additional features include a pressure water system, cockpit cooler storage, transom shower, and flip-up bucket seats. Twin 320hp Volvo sterndrives cruise in the mid 20s, and optional 240hp Yanmar diesels cruise at 35 knots.
