1988–96

Celebrity 285-290-310 Sport Cruiser
Introduced in 1989 as the 285 Sport Cruiser, Celebrity completely reworked this boat in 1990 with a new deckhouse and interior as well as a redesigned hull bottom Reintroduced as the 290 Sport Cruiser, this version lasted for four years (1990–93) until she was updated in 1994 with a new integral swim platform (replacing the original bolt-on platform) of the 290. The Sport Cruiser is a well-built family express with contemporary 1990’s styling, a spacious cockpit, and generic mid-cabin interior with berths for four adults. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and her 10'4" beam is about average for a 30-footer. The 290/310 floorplan remained essentially unchanged over the years aside from decor and hardware upgrades. Privacy curtains separate the sleeping areas from the salon, and a U-shaped dinette converts to a double berth more suitable for kids than adults. The Sport Cruiser’s uncluttered bi-level cockpit seats six and came standard with transom door, storage areas, and a raw-water washdown. The side decks are narrow on this boat and foredeck access is not easy. Twin 250hp MerCruiser sterndrives cruise the Celebrity 290/310 at 22–23 knots (35+ top).
