265 Sport Cruiser

1993–96

The Celebrity 265 Sport Cruiser is a maxi-cube trailerable cruiser with an affordable price and practical accommodations. (Note that she was called the 245 Sport Cruiser in 1993.) Built on a solid fiberglass hull, the Sport Cruiser weighs in at a hefty 5,700 pounds, and with a trailer, her towing weight approaches 7,000 lbs. With her chunky appearance, she’s not the most graceful boat on the water but she does have a couple of features that will appeal to prospective buyers. The companionway, for example, is on the centerline which makes entering the cabin a lot easier than negotiating the circular steps of a port-side entry. Too, most of the Sport Cruiser’s hull length is devoted to a big cockpit which is great for enjoying the outdoors. Conversely, the cabin is very small. Additional features include a windshield walk-thru for bow access, three opening ports in the aft cabin, a molded pulpit, and near-standing headroom below. A competent performer, a single 245hp 5.7-liter Volvo I/O will cruise the Celebrity 265 at about 19–20 knots with a top speed of around 30 knots.
