38 Express
Introduced in 2008 at the very beginning of the Great Recession, the 38 Express was an entirely new hull design for Cabo. With her super-wide 15'1" beam, she has considerably more cockpit, helm deck, and interior space than any other express boat in her class. Tournament anglers will find themselves at home in the wide cockpit with its big 48-gallon transom livewell, outward-opening transom door, insulated fish boxes, and a molded bait prep/tackle station with freezer and cutting board. The entire helm deck—which is huge for a 38-foot boat—can be raised hydraulically to provide access to the Cabo’s spacious engine room. Below decks, the spacious (and very understated) cabin sleeps four and includes a fully equipped galley with microwave and under-counter refrigeration, standup head with separate stall shower, and more storage and counter space that most crews will ever use. Designed for hardcore anglers with deep pockets, the 38 Express will cruise at 30 knots with 715hp Cat—or 800hp MAN—diesels (mid to high 30s top). Note the short production run.
