Bayliner Yachts 4050 Bodega
While the boxy, high-freeboard profile of the Bayliner 4050 Bodega has often been remarked upon few will dispute her generous interior accommodations and versatile layout. A total of three staterooms are provided (including a unique aft cabin with its own head and shower) together with a large step-down salon. Although the emphasis is clearly on interior comforts, the outdoor entertainment areas are equally generous and include a huge 150-sq.-ft. flybridge. A unique fold-down ladder leading from the bridge to the foredeck is a popular feature found in later models. A relatively light boat for her size, her solid fiberglass hull is designed with a shallow keel, average beam, and moderate deadrise at the transom. Additional features include a portside lower helm (note that most lower helms are to starboard) with deck access door, breakfast counter, and double berths in two of the staterooms. Storage space is limited and the absence of a separate stall shower in the forward head is lamentable in a boat this size. No racehorse, standard 350hp gas engines cruise the Bayliner 4050 Bodega at 15–16 knots with a top speed of about 25 knots.
