Bayliner Yachts 3460 Convertible
The Bayliner 3460 Convertible (also called the 3460 Trophy) is an inexpensive and versatile family cruiser with generous accommodations and a distinctive profile. She was conceived as a fishing boat but her marginal finish and lightweight construction had very little appeal for serious anglers. She does have a fair-size cockpit, however, with a standard bait station with livewell and sink, two in-deck fish boxes, and a transom door. Below, the two-stateroom floorplan is arranged with a small midcabin below the dinette and an offset double berth in the forward stateroom. Note that a lower helm was standard. The interior is a blend of white fiberglass surfaces and teak paneling and trimwork—a cheap cabin decor with ill-fitting components and dated fabrics. Topside, the flybridge—redesigned in 1989—is arranged with the helm forward which is unusual for a fishing boat since cockpit visibility is poor. Engine access (two small in-deck hatches) is tight and so is the working space around the motors. Twin 330hp inboard gas engines cruise the 3460 Trophy at around 20 knots. (26–27 knots top).
