3350 Montego

1974-78

Bayliner Yachts 3350 Montego
During most of her production years in the mid-to-late 1970s the 3350 Montego was the largest boat in the rapidly expanding Bayliner fleet. Her spacious interior is the result of using V-drives to move the engines aft in the hull. While the Montego’s mid-galley floorplan allows space for two private staterooms forward, the salon, with its lower helm station, serving bar, and built-in dinette, is a tight fit. Note the stall shower in the head. The interior of each cabin is finished with plastic laminates, vinyl wall coverings, and teak trim. Two large in-deck hatches in the cockpit sole provide access to the engines and V-drive units. Additional features include wide side decks, a large bridge, and a swim platform. Twin 250hp Chrysler gas engines provide a cruising speed of 17–18 knots and a top speed of about 27 knots. (Note that the Montego was also available with sterndrives.) Fuel economy is close to a mile per gallon at moderate cruising speeds—impressive for a boat this size. With a relatively steep 17 degrees of transom deadrise, the Bayliner 3350 delivers a surprisingly comfortable ride in a chop.
