3255 Avanti Sunbridge
1995–99
Introduced in 1995 and remaining in production for the next four years, the Bayliner 3255 Avanti Sunbridge is a conservative family express whose major attractions were an affordable price and generous cabin accommodations. Built on a lightweight, solid fiberglass hull with a relatively wide beam and moderate transom deadrise, the reverse arch of the 3255 is her most prominent styling feature. The mid-cabin floorplan is arranged in the conventional manner with double berths fore and aft and a full galley, enclosed head and shower, convertible dinette, and a good-size hanging locker in the salon. (Note that an accordion pocket door separates the forward stateroom from the salon.) On deck, a U-shaped settee (with a removable table) is opposite the helm in the bi-level cockpit. The side decks are narrow and getting around the arch to access the side decks isn’t easy. Additional features include a cockpit wet bar, transom door, integral bow pulpit, swim platform, and a foredeck sun pad. Optional 310hp MerCruiser stern drives cruise the Bayliner 3255 Avanti Sunbridge at 19–20 knots and deliver top speeds of around 32 knots.
