An updated version of Bayliner’s earlier 2655 Ciera Sunbridge (1994–99), this newer 2655 Ciera Sunbridge isn’t trailerable (like her predecessor was) due to her wide 9-foot, 5-inch beam and the addition of some 1,500 additional pounds of weight. Indeed, the new 2655 has more beam than other pocket cruisers her size, a reality one quickly notices upon stepping below. With no side decks to intrude into the cabin, the midcabin interior of the 2655 is unusually spacious for a 26-footer with berths for four adults, a removable dinette table, enclosed head, full galley and over six feet of headroom. The cockpit is arranged with an L-shaped lounge opposite the helm and it’s not necessary to remove the transom bench seat to access the engine compartment. An opening windshield and molded steps facilitate bow access, and a transom door opens to the swim platform aft. On the downside, the felt cabin liner is cheap substitute for a molded inner liner. The standard 250hp 5.7L MerCruiser sterndrive package will cruise the Bayliner 2655 at 20 knots and deliver a top speed of around 32–33 knots. Note the Bayliner 265 Cruiser (2003–09) is the same boat with an updated interior.
