2556 Ciera Command Bridge

1986–94

A good-selling model for many years, the 2556 Ciera Command Bridge (called the 2560 Convertible from 1986–88) is an inexpensive flybridge cruiser whose generous accommodations made her popular with budget-minded families. Built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with a wide beam, the 2556 is a relatively light boat for her size. The floorplan is arranged with two staterooms (a guest cabin is tucked below the elevated port-side dinette), an enclosed head with shower, and a small galley abaft the standard lower helm. With the dinette converted, there are berths for six—not bad for a 25-footer—making her one of the roomiest boats in her class. There’s enough space in the cockpit for a couple of anglers, and the flybridge will seat two comfortably. Additional features include a swim platform and boarding ladder, bow pulpit, trim tabs, a recessed fish box, rod holders, and a built-in tackle box. Among several single-screw engine options, a 5.7-liter MerCruiser I/O will cruise the Bayliner 2556 Ciera Command Bridge at 16 knots (about 25 knots top), and the optional 7.4-liter I/O will cruise at 19 knots (29–30 knots top).
