Aquasport
270 Express
1984–87
A rugged fisherman with a full transom and one of the larger cockpits you’ll find in a 27-footer, the Aquasport 270 Express was a fairly popular boat during her production run thanks to an attractive price tag and her big-boat fishing capabilities. Hull construction is solid fiberglass, and her deep-V bottom and wide beam result in a roomy boat with good offshore handling characteristics. In a notable departure from other boats her size with twin V-8 inboard power, the Aquasport 270’s cockpit is completely flush with no elevated bridge deck or raised engine boxes. A removable 5-foot-long fish box and two livewells are set into the cockpit sole, and both the helm and companion seats have built-in storage cabinets. Below, the 270’s compact cabin is arranged with upper and lower bunks, a small galley with a hinged dinette table, overhead rod racks, and a standup head with a portable toilet. Twin 220hp Crusader gas engines cruise the Aquasport 270 Express at 19–20 knots with a top speed of about 30 knots. Those equipped with outboards or OMC Sea Drives will run several knots faster.
