Aquasport
250 Explorer
1992–95
The Aquasport 250 Explorer is a roomy walkaround cuddy whose wide 9-foot beam exceeds the traditional 8-foot, 6-inch trailerable width found in many boats her size. Unlike other Aquasport models, the Explorer is built on an innovative deep-V, Delta-Conic hull with large reverse chines to deflect spray and delta-shaped conical sections at the bow for lift. Perhaps the chief attribute of the 250 Explorer is her huge flush cockpit with two large in-deck fish boxes and an aerated livewell. Wide recessed walkways, two steps up from the cockpit level, provide safe and secure access to the bow. Below, the Explorer’s cabin contains the basic cruising necessities with V-berths forward, a small galley area, a dinette table and an enclosed head—good accommodations for a 25-foot walkaround. Additional features include a transom-mounted bait rigging station, two pedestal seats, under-gunwale rod storage and a bow pulpit. A reportedly dry ride in a chop, twin bracket-mounted 200-hp outboards will cruise the Aquasport 250 Explorer at 25 knots and reach a top speed of over 40 knots.
