Angler
2900 Center Console
2000–06
A good-looking boat, the Angler 2900 CC has the features, dimensions, and specifications found on larger sportfishing boats for a smaller boat’s cost. She came with an impressive array of standard equipment including a T-top with outriggers, leaning post, an integrated bow pulpit, a transom door, and a clever electronics box—adjustable for viewing at different angles— that disappears into the console with the press of a switch. A wide 10-foot, 4-inch beam provides the cockpit space and hull stability for fishing or entertaining guests. Highlights include big 45-gallon lighted livewell, built-in tackle center, lockable rod storage, folding rear bench seat, raw-water washdown, and three in-deck dry storage boxes. The console contains a standup head with shower, and the deep cockpit offers an extra level of security when the seas pick up. The tilt helm is a nice touch, and the fit and finish of the Angler 2900 compares well with other boats in its class. Note the relatively high freeboard. Built on a deep-V hull with reverse chines and an integrated dive platform, twin Yamaha 225s deliver a top speed in the neighborhood of 45 knots.
