This April, we had the opportunity to run the Valhalla V-37 off Green Turtle Cay in the Bahamas—and to say the boat impressed is an understatement. From its rock-solid performance in open water to its refined fishing features, the V-37 proved to be the ideal platform for deep drop fishing in the crystal-clear depths of the Bahamian sea.
Built for Bluewater Runs

The crossing to the Bahamas demands a vessel that combines speed, range, and seaworthiness. The V-37 checks every box. Powered by triple Mercury Verado 400s, the V-37 cruised effortlessly at over 50 mph, with a range nearing 500 miles. That meant we could hit remote drop zones far offshore and still have fuel in the tank to explore, fish, and return without concern.
And when the wind kicked up? The Valhalla’s stepped-hull design and optional Seakeeper SK 3 gyrostabilizer kept us stable and comfortable—even while setting electric reels and rigging bait in rollers. It’s a hull that inspires confidence.

Fishing-First Layout
Deep drop fishing demands cockpit space, tackle access, and live well capacity—and the V-37 delivers all three in spades. With 360-degree fishability, multiple in-deck fish boxes, and a 56-gallon transom live well, we had room for everything.
We especially appreciated the clean deck layout and aft mezzanine seating, which let us stay organized and comfortable during long drops. The boat’s rigging options, including electric reel outlets and massive insulated boxes, made it clear this center console was designed with serious offshore anglers in mind.

The Ride to Remember
On a calm Bahamian morning, we left Green Turtle Cay and dropped lines in 1,000+ feet of water within an hour.
Between the Valhalla’s ride, range, and refined comfort, it felt less like a fishing trip and more like a luxury expedition with rods. The hardtop rocket launcher held everything we needed, and the helm’s optional joystick control made anchoring and repositioning effortless.

Final Verdict
If you’re serious about deep drop fishing in the Bahamas—or just want a center console that can handle long runs, rough conditions, and hardcore angling—the Valhalla V-37 is the boat to beat. Our April trip to Green Turtle Cay was a reminder that the right boat makes the difference between a good day offshore and an unforgettable one.
