ECLIPSE Yachts will be bringing not one, but two 505 Shadows to the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Hull #003, the Flag Blue Hull, and Hull #005, the Stingray Gray Hull, will be on display side by side, giving show-goers a rare chance to step aboard two versions of one of the most talked-about outboard express cruisers on the water.
The 505 Shadow has always been about blending performance with elevated liveaboard comfort. With every new hull, the ECLIPSE team takes what they learn from owners, experienced yachtsmen, and their own time on the water, and builds it back into the boat. The ECLIPSE 505 Shadow Stingray Gray Hull, the Latest Evolution
If you want to see where the 505 Shadow is headed, start with the Stingray Gray Hull. Hull #005 isn't defined by one dramatic change. It's the sum of dozens of thoughtful refinements, each one shaped by how owners actually live aboard.
A richer interior. Step below and the difference is immediate. High-gloss African walnut cabinetry and wood-finished walls add depth and contrast, creating a warmer, more contemporary feel. Durable Amtico soles underfoot keep it practical for everyday use.
A more refined helm. A two-piece windshield and a lowered dash open up clear sightlines. Running light and sunroof controls now sit to the side of the helm for easier reach. A dedicated 16,000 BTU air conditioning unit feeds directional vents around the windshield and forward seating. The new high-back custom helm seat adds a shock-absorbing base, a fold-up forward edge, and fold-up armrests for long runs.
Proven power. The second generation of Mercury's 600-hp V12 Verado outboards delivers the performance the Shadow is known for.
Spaces that adapt. The aft cockpit table lowers into the surrounding seating to become a generous sun pad. Inside, a hi-low table converts the salon into a space for lounging or extra sleeping space. Dinner with friends, a lazy afternoon at anchor, a full house overnight: the boat shifts with you.
A redesigned galley. More counter space, more storage and more utility space, all within the same footprint. An integrated trash bin and a newly enclosed storage compartment beneath the galley floor round it out.
Systems within easy reach. The electrical switchboard now sits inboard of the aft dinette seat, putting breakers and power-transfer controls right where you need them.
A reimagined aft guest cabin. This is one of Hull #5's biggest upgrades. The berths now run fore and aft instead of athwartship, opening up the cabin. The ECLIPSE production team calls them "king singles." Dual wardrobe lockers, one for hanging and one with shelving, sit above four pull-out drawers. Convenient USB charging and leather-wrapped companionway handrails finish the space.
Oversized heads. Both heads are far roomier than most expect on a boat this size. Showers offer generous standing room and built-in bench seating. It's one of the features guests comment on most during walkthroughs.
Smarter master stateroom storage. Lockers line both sides, one for hanging and one with shelving. A large pull-out drawer sits beneath the berth, with even more storage when you lift it. Forward, the bow adds seating and storage, and a constructed floor in the anchor locker is the kind of detail most builders overlook.
The result feels familiar to anyone who knows the 505 Shadow, but noticeably more refined in the spaces you use most.
