HMY Yacht Sales is pleased to announce the sale of M/Y Lost Texan, a 1998 Lazzara 80 Cockpit Motor Yacht. Congratulations to the Listing Broker, Mark Parker, and all parties involved in the transaction, and thank you to the captain, crew, and supporting professionals for their cooperation throughout the sales process.
Built by Lazzara Yachts and representing one of the more distinctive designs in the 80-foot motor yacht category, the Lazzara 80 combines an expansive cockpit layout with a multi-level interior arrangement that includes a full sky lounge, a country kitchen with full-size appliances, and a thoughtfully configured accommodations plan spanning four guest cabins and five heads. Below is a breakdown of the yacht's core specifications:
- Length Overall: At 80 feet, Lost Texan occupies an accessible size range that delivers substantial volume, versatile exterior spaces, and the operational practicality that private ownership demands.
- Beam: Measuring 19'1", the beam supports a full-beam salon, wide side decks, and well-proportioned exterior entertaining areas across multiple levels.
- Draft: With a maximum draft of 4'6", Lost Texan offers excellent flexibility for coastal and offshore cruising, including access to shallower Bahamian destinations.
- Guest Accommodations: The yacht accommodates guests across four en-suite staterooms, including a Master cabin with a king-size berth, walk-in closet, and a large head featuring twin sinks and a tub/shower. Two additional guest staterooms are located forward on the lower deck, with a starboard cabin offering over/under double berths and a port cabin fitted with a double bed — each with private head access.
- Crew & Captain's Accommodations: A custom-configured forward arrangement — modified from the factory at time of build — provides a spacious captain's cabin with a centerline double berth, three hanging lockers, and an ensuite head, along with a separate captain's office featuring an L-shaped desk workstation, laundry area, and a fold-away bunk.
- Engines & Performance: Lost Texan is powered by twin MTU 12V 183 engines producing 1,150 HP each, with approximately 2,745 and 2,677 hours respectively. The hull bottom design was updated in 2022 to redirect exhaust away from the props, eliminating inherent vibration and improving underway performance.
- Sky Lounge: Built with the optional Cabriolet helm configuration, the fully enclosed sky lounge sits seven steps above the country kitchen and features a full helm station with updated electronics, a starboard bar with new ice maker, a Samsung TV, and an L-shaped sofa with built-in storage — offering a relaxed, panoramic alternative to the flybridge for passage-making.
- Exterior Spaces: The aft deck was re-teak'd in 2021 and features a built-in bar with new refrigerator and ice maker, L-shaped settees port and starboard, a fixed dining table, and a mounted TV. The large cockpit — capable of accommodating fishing or water sports activities — includes two full stand-up integrated lockers with sink and prep station, rod holders, fish boxes, and a custom cockpit cover installed in 2022. The boat deck provides an additional outdoor lounge area with an electric grill and concealed port and starboard davits.
- Recent Upgrades: A comprehensive 2021–2023 refit included new teak decking on the aft deck and flybridge stairs, four new air conditioning units, rebuilt water maker, new carpet and Amtico teak and holly flooring throughout the master and two guest staterooms, a complete Dometic toilet system replacement (five toilets), new dockmate joystick controller, new Electrosea barnacle eliminator system, updated electronics including a new ISIS monitor and camera controller, new aft deck and salon appliances, new upholstery, refreshed Awlgrip paint in the cockpit and on the swim platform, and engine and generator fluid and filter servicing completed approximately 25 hours prior to listing.
We wish the new owners many enjoyable miles aboard Lost Texan and continued success in their yachting adventures.
