George grew up cruising and fishing the Florida waterways from a very young age. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, his family moved to FLorida shortly after. At age 8, his father gave him his first boat, a 10’ skiff with a 10 horsepower outboard motor, and George learned very quickly that boating and the water would be a significant part of his life. "Growing up on the water in a boating family has offered me a wealth of experience both on and in the water. "
Over the years, George has been involved in many aspects of boating from working at a boat manufacturer as a teenager to family cruising, sport fishing, yacht restoration, and power boat racing. "I have been a member of various yacht clubs and boating organizations and completed an in depth program at North Florida Marine Institute, earning certificates in various aspects of marine mechanics, and acquiring a Captain’s License." After a successful 16 year career in outside sales and sales management positions with S.C. Johnson Co. he decided to turn his years of passion and experience for boating into a career. “It is only natural for me to be involved with the sales and brokerage side of the business.” George spent several years in the marine industry working in the South Florida market eventually joining HMY in 2007.
He has visited and acquired training at many boat manufacturing plants as well as engine manufacturers. Most recent was a trip to Taiwan to both the Horizon Yachts and Paragon manufacturing facilities.
George has experience with both New Boat builds and sales, as well as Brokerage boat sales and purchases. With a wide range of experience George can help clients with vessels of all kinds.
