Dirk brings more than 25 years of yacht sales expertise and a lifetime on the water to HMY Yacht Sales. His passion for boating began in childhood, with early memories cruising a 16-foot boat with his family on Lake Wallenpaupack in Northeastern Pennsylvania. 

After high school, Dirk served in the US Coast Guard as a Boatswain's Mate, stationed at small boat stations in Tawas, MI, St. Ignace, MI, and Charleston, SC, and later aboard a river tender in Pittsburgh, PA, during his time in the Coast Guard Reserve. That foundation of seamanship and service has shaped his approach to every client relationship since. 

Dirk holds degrees in Marketing and German for International Trade from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, along with an MBA from the University of Tennessee — a combination that has served him well across a career built on both domestic and international yacht sales. He has represented leading manufacturers including Sea Ray and Bertram, and led U.S. sales efforts for international builders Vicem and Bavaria. 

For Dirk, yacht sales has never been about a single transaction — it's about building lasting relationships. He takes the time to understand each client's goals, whether they're buying their first boat or their fifth, and treats every deal as the start of a long-term partnership rather than the end of a sale. Many of his clients become repeat buyers and friends, a testament to the trust he builds through honesty, attentiveness, and genuine care for their experience on the water. 

Over the course of his career, Dirk has sold yachts on every continent except Antarctica — a goal he's still working toward. He holds a 100-Ton Master Captain License and brings both the technical knowledge and global perspective that today's yacht buyers and sellers expect from a trusted advisor.
