David Dotterweich was born and raised in Jupiter, Florida, where his lifelong passion for fishing and boating began. Growing up on the water, David followed in his father’s footsteps as a second-generation captain, shaping a career deeply rooted in hands-on marine experience.

 

He began his professional journey as a mate, quickly advancing to captain before founding his own yacht management company, locally known as Yacht Management Professionals. Through this venture, David leveraged his extensive industry knowledge to provide consulting services, routine maintenance, mini-overhauls, full refits, and yacht brokerage, ensuring that his clients made informed decisions tailored to their specific needs.

 

David’s expertise is built on thousands of hours behind the helm, fishing in prestigious tournaments, and traveling to some of the world’s most sought-after sportfishing destinations. This firsthand experience gives him a deep understanding of vessel performance, systems, and real-world usability.
