The Tiara 3600 Open (note an earlier 3600 Open built in 1985–96) is designed to satisfy both anglers and cruisers with a large 70-square-foot cockpit and a comfortable, well-appointed cabin. Like most late-model Tiaras, the 3600 rides on a modified-V hull with a sharp entry, solid fiberglass bottom, and a relatively broad beam. Anglers will appreciate the professional-grade cockpit with its aft-facing seats, overbuilt transom door, in-deck fish boxes, and fold-down transom seat. The helm deck has a portside lounge (with insulated cooler) along with a wet bar and tilt-away dash. Below decks, the posh interior is a blend of solid-wood floors, flawless teak joinery, Ultraleather upholstery, and brushed stainless-steel hardware. The U-shaped dinette converts into a double berth, and the backrest flips up to create a Pullman berth. Note that a sliding door provides real privacy in the master stateroom. Additional features include fresh/raw-water washdowns, integral bow pulpit, wide side decks, and cockpit bolsters. Cummins 380hp diesels cruise at 26–28 knots. Newer models with 370hp Volvo IPS pod drives cruise efficiently at 28 knots.

An extremely popular model for Tiara with a long production run, the 3600 Open is a quality-built offshore express with a big fishing cockpit, comfortable cabin accommodations, and surprisingly agile performance. Indeed, the 3600 Open set the standards in her era for express boat versatility and luxury, able to serve as a great fishing platform as well as a stable family cruiser. Built on a modified-V hull with a wide 13'9"" beam, the original 3600 Open interior slept four with an island berth forward and a separate stall shower in the head. An alternate layout introduced in 1989 sleeps six with a convertible settee opposite the dinette, and the head aft (without the stall shower). Either way, the upscale interior is an appealing blend of grain-matched joinery and premium hardware and furnishings—just what one expects in a Tiara product. The cockpit is large enough for a mounted chair, and the entire bridge deck lifts on hydraulic rams for engine access. Notably, the conservative styling of the Tiara 3600 has stood up well over the years. Standard 350hp gas engines cruise at 20 knots (about 28 knots top), and optional 375hp Cats cruise in the mid 20s.
