The Nova 36 Sundeck was one of the better-selling boats of her type during the mid to late 1980s thanks to her contemporary profile, a traditional all-teak interior, and an affordable price tag. Still imported and marketed as the Heritage East 36 Sundeck, shes built on a solid fiberglass hull with moderate beam and a full-length, prop-protecting keel. Several two-stateroom, galley-down floorplans were available during her production run (two of the more popular are shown below), and all managed to provide a roomy salonfor a 36-footeras well as good storage and excellent headroom. The aft stateroom came with a centerline double berth, and a sliding door at the lower helm provides easy access to the foredeck. While the flybridge isnt particularly large, theres seating for six around the helm. Additional features include a radar arch, wide side decks, and a bow pulpit. Out of production in 1990, the molds were sent to China where production of the Heritage East 36 was resumed in 1997. Several single and twin diesel engines options have been offered over the years. A single 135hp Volvo will cruise at 78 knots, and twin Volvo 150hp diesels cruise at 10 knots and reach a top speed of around 13 knots.
