Influenced by the success of the earlier Phantom 50, the Fairline Phantom 40 combines the practicality required for serious cruising with the spaciousness and comfort expected aboard any high-end luxury yacht. Precise handling and excellent finish gained her a lot of attention when she was introduced in 2004qualities that continue to rank the sleek Phantom 40 at the top of todays mainstream 40-foot flybridge market. Her twin-stateroom, galley-down interior with two heads is notable for its uncommon versatility and comfort. The spacious salon with its posh leather settee, rich furnishings, and lacquered cherry woodwork is as good as it gets in a yacht of this type. The flybridge is large for a 40-foot cruiser and comes with a lavish crescent-shaped aft dinette and wet bar with refrigerator. The cockpit, sheltered by a bridge overhang, has a tasteful teak floor and a transom settee. A foredeck sun pad is standard, but the Phantoms narrow side decks make it difficult to get there. Volvo 370hp diesels cruise in the low 20s and reach 2728 knots topnot the fastest in her class, but good enough.
