47 Motor Yacht
Length w/ Pulpit:
Originally known as the Prairie 46 Long Range Cruiser (197981), Atlantic Yachts purchased the tooling for this model in 1982 when Prairie went out of business. Although designed more than three decades ago she remains a handsome yacht todayyet another testament to the enduring quality of Hargrave designs. The 47 was available with two floorplans with the original three-stateroom, two-head layout being the most popular. In her day, the 47s interior was considered luxurious indeed with well-crafted teak woodwork complimented by quality hardware and furnishings. A lower helm and dinette were standard, and the aft deck dimensions are considerably more generous than most other motor yachts her size. An optional hard aft enclosure turned the afterdeck into an air-conditioned, carpeted and fully paneled second salon. Note the oversize freshwater tanks. Heavily built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with a wide beam and a shallow keel, the Atlantic 47 is well known for her comfortable ride. Standard 375hp Cats cruise at a modest 1415 knots. Optional 435hp 6V71 (or 450hp 6V92) diesels cruise at 16 knots, and the 550hp 6V92s cruise at 1819 knots.
