Yellowfins best-selling model, the 36 is a high-performance fishing machine with the speed and rough-water capability tournament anglers demand in an offshore boat. Like many of todays go-fast hulls, there are two steps in the bottom to reduce wetted surface and gain speed. Introduced in 2003, the 36 is a semi-custom boat and her list of factory options is extensive. Yellowfin recently added aft fish boxes where previously there were forward boxes only, and the transom door has been updated to a pocket-style slider. The foredeck has two large fish boxes as well as a coffin box that nearly doubles the boats storage capacity. Highlights include a factory hardtop with rod holders and electronics box, leaning post with 80-gallon livewell, 50-gallon transom livewell, K-Plane trim tabs, pop-up cleats, saltwater washdown, console seat, 9-foot rod storage boxes, and coffin box with hydraulic lifting ram. Fit and finish is as close to flawless as it gets. The Yellowfin 36 was designed for triple engines although there are plenty out there with twins. Shell reach a top speed of about 55 knots with a pair of Yamaha F350s, and triple F350s can exceed 60 knots wide open.
