Introduced in 2001, the 68 Sonship quickly became a popular model for West Bay, especially with those moving up from the company’s best-selling 58 Sonship. The styling is graceful, reflecting her Pacific Northwest heritage, and a 20-foot beam ensures that the 68 is one of the most open and spacious yachts in her class. The floorplan is arranged with the galley to port on the pilothouse level, separated from the salon by a full-height bulkhead. Forward of the galley is a big settee with a spectacular view through the pilothouse windows. Each of the three staterooms on the lower level is served by an ensuite head. The full-beam master is notable for its sheer size. Crew quarters are aft, accessed from a watertight door on the swim platform. Typical of a West Bay yacht, designer fabrics, high-gloss cherry woodwork, and upscale furnishings make for a very impressive decor. Additional features include a large, well-arranged engine room, pilothouse deck doors, port and starboard transom stairs, a bow thruster, washer/dryer, and a very spacious flybridge. Twin 900hp GM diesels cruise the 68 Sonship at 18 knots, and optional 1,400hp Cats cruise at 22–23 knots.
