The 43 San Remo was the first motor yacht model to bear the Wellcraft name. She was a stylish boat in her day with rakish lines and bold graphics, and while production lasted only through 1990 a cockpit versionthe 46 Cockpit Motor Yachtremained in the Wellcraft fleet through 1995. The San Remos interior, with its custom lighting, mauve fabrics, and glitzy decor, is obviously dated by todays standards. Two floorplans were available, the difference being that one has rounded sofas and countertops in the salon, and the other offers a more conventional layout with fewer curves. While the salon dimensions are impressive, the aft stateroomwith a big picture window overlooking the cockpitis not overly spacious for a yacht this size. Topside, theres room for only a couple of deck chairs on the full-width aft deck, and the flybridge is arranged with guest seating aft of the helm. Additional features include prop pockets in the hull, a radar arch, bow pulpit, wide side decks, and a spacious engine room. Optional Cat 375hp diesels cruise the Wellcraft San Remo at close to 20 knots.
